What is a Modern Award Classification?
Every Modern Award classifies employees within an industry according to skill level and / or qualifications, and each Modern Award classification is allocated a minimum weekly wage rate. A higher classification means that the minimum wage rate for that classification will also be higher when compared to the other classifications in the same Modern Award.
Every employee that is covered under a particular Modern Award must be allocated a relevant Modern Award classification.
