What is a Right of Entry?

A right of entry is the right of a union official holding the required permit to enter any workplace for the purposes of investigating suspected breaches of the Fair Work laws and / or safety laws, or to hold discussions with employees.

When entering a workplace, unions officials must comply with certain rules, which may include providing the employer with notice before they enter the workplace.
