What is Shiftwork?

Shiftwork generally involves starting a shift in the late afternoon to early morning on a regular basis (i.e 6:00pm to 5:00am shift).  The specific definition of 'shiftwork' will depend entirely on the Modern Award that covers a particular employee in a particular industry.

Shiftworkers are generally provided with more generous wages and working conditions to compensate for having to work outside of normal business hours.
